Carpenter Ward’s experts were called upon for the full renovation of a large dining room which included the design and build of a custom-made humidity-controlled wine room.
The main task involved designing an aesthetic enclosure in keeping with the room’s style that was highly insulated and vapour sealed with venting to/from a fully temperature and humidity-controlled refrigeration system housed in the basement. Working closely with a renowned engineer, Carpenter Ward carried out all aspects of the work from initial design through to installation including the creation of the decorative solid wood beams in keeping with the room’s ceiling beams and the design and installation of the glass panels and hardware.
In addition, Carpenter Ward’s qualified team relined the dining room chimney and fitted a large stylish gas fire replacing the old electric fire. This required extensive remodelling of the existing arts and crafts fire place.
